Apple from Kellogg's Apple Jacks

Apple (formerly called Bad Apple from 2004-2007) is one of the mascots of Kellogg's Apple Jacks starting from 2004.

History[]

In 2004, Kellogg's introduced Apple as Bad Apple, his goal was to attempt to make it to the bowl first, but always fail, with Cinna-Mon making it there first. Because Apple Jacks don't taste like apples, they taste like sweet cinnamon. Then in 2006, he got removed due to complaints from non-profit health food organizations such as Center for Science in the Public Interest over the campaign discouraging children from eating fruit by antagonizing the Apple character, so later Bad Apple is named Apple. Later then in 2007, the campaign was slated to be retired in 2007, and replaced by a retread of the 1990s campaign focused on children, but fan response to Apple and CinnaMon helped them remain as the mascots. When Apple returned, Apple and CinnaMon were fused together with CinnaMon sticking through the center of Apple with both of their legs at the bottom of their body. They remained this way for a few of the commercials until they became unstuck by a special machine. So now, Apple became friends with Cinna-Mon, then later in 2009, they got teleported to The Big Apple(aka New York City). Soon the campaign got retired in 2012, besides in 2013, a flavored Cinnamon Jacks came out, leading Cinna-Mon to be the mascot. This was the last commercial to be aired in the campaign. Then later in 2020, Kellogg's removed Cinna-Mon's beanie dreads, and his name was dropped to Cinnamon, probably due to Black Lives Matter stuff. Later Kellogg's updated the Apple Jacks mascots again by replacing the mascots into cutesy clip art style versions of the two mascots, leaving them dead after 17 to 18 years(2004-2021 or 2022).
